About Us

Nashoba Youth Hockey is a recreational youth hockey program focused on teaching the sport of ice hockey to the youth of Westford, Littleton and Tyngsboro. Our goal is to give every skater proficiency on the ice and to foster good sportsmanship and good citizenship in all our members. Our approach aligns to the American Development Model (ADM) philosophy of building better players by first building better citizens and athletes.

Drawing members from our local geographic area follows the traditional model of organizing recreational hockey in Massachusetts and we take tremendous pride in our focus on hometown hockey.

We have a multi-layered approach to accomplishing our organizational goals:

Instructional programs:  This is where the love of the sport begins and we start with the basics - teaching kids how to skate, and how to get back up when they fall down. We offer both a 10 week Learn-to-Skate program and a 10 week Learn to Play Hockey program for those who wish to learn the basics of playing hockey.

Travel teams: NYHA has travel teams at the Mite, Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget levels as well as Girls-only teams for various age levels.

NYHA teams participate in the Valley Hockey League and the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls Hockey League.

Community Involvement: We are grateful to all the community does for Nashoba Youth Hockey and we take great strides to give back as well. We are actively involved with the KDK Foundation and the Boston Bruins Academy and our members are frequent volunteers at community events and in charitable causes.

Volunteer Opportunities: NYHA is a volunteer organization and many opportunities exist for parental involvement -- coaching, assistant coaching, becoming a team manager, helping with NYHA fund-raising efforts and/or running for a position on the Board of Directors.

NYHA is an affiliate of Massachusetts Hockey and USA Hockey, which is empowered to govern the sport of ice hockey in the United States by federal legislation. We are required to comply with the rules and regulations of these organizations as an affiliated organization. These rules and regulations have been developed in an effort to improve the sport of ice hockey. Printed copies of the rules are available from the NYHA Registrar.
